Hologo: Islanders on the cutting edge!
Maldives has been a paradox in recent years for we are famous for our obscurity. Our resorts have gone on to win many an international award and the secluded luxury we offer has become truly world famous. We are also known for our tuna that have made its way to grocery stores from Tokyo to Cape Town.
But in Hologo, we see another reason to be very proud. The app developed by Islanders Education in collaboration with Pro Designers have broken ground on many fronts. An educational augmented reality app that lets users browse a multitude of exciting experiences ranging from the international space station to the human digestive system was a star in the recently held BETT conference in Abu Dhabi. Eedham Rasheed, CEO and the visionary behind Hologo, told us that they are just getting started and what has dazzled even venture capitalists in Silicon Valley so far is just about 20% of what they have in store.
Hologo has become the first Maldivian tech company to shine on the global stage with it being actively used in schools in Bolton, UK and Sweden. Negotiations are underway with the education authorities in Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka and Malaysia as well. Ranked within the top 200 educational apps in the world it is also fast growing in user numbers since its launching just two months ago.
We at Dhiconomist are very excited for the future of Hologo because it is a rare example of true excellence and an inspiring story of a relatively small company punching well above its weight. We wish Hologo all the best and will keep covering their journey for you all.
